2 am Laundry Mat Fire

Building was full of smoke when crews arrived, fire was contained to one dryer unit.

Third clothes dryer fire in this Laundry Mat in the last 18 months.

Found numerous on going code violations, some previously cited.

Minor MVA @ K-15 & Rock Road

May 10, 2007 Flood

5.52 inches of rain fell in 3 hours, however 4" of this amount fell in the first hour between 16:45 hrs and 17:45 hrs. 

Access North & South through town was completely cut off at one point.  K-53 highway was closed at either city limit with water over the road in multiple places. 

Only K-15 highway was completely passable through the City.

 

**Code violations from laundry mat fire pictures.

1).  Disconnect switch & fuses for dryer had been bypassed & was not functional.  Disconnect box was serving two dryers & was not fused at the breaker box.

2.)  Use of extension cords for permanent wiring.  Use of multiplug adaptors.

3.) Romex used to power sign on front of building.

4.)  Open spots in circuit breaker box, not covered up with blank covers.  (Notice all the full size breakers have been replaced with half size breakers)
