Garage Fire with two exposure fires, August 25th, 2008

     

     

     

     

Neighbors reported this structure fire with the occupant possible still inside.  Fire had spread to a second outbuilding with heavy fire exposure to a third building by the time firefighters arrived.
The occupant was located several blocks away mowing a neighbors yard eventually.  Derby Fire was requested for Mutual Aid assistance due to multiple exposures.

 

 

Mobile Home Fire April 2nd, 2008

This fire at Prairie Schooner Mobile Home was quickly stopped, although the fire had spread quickly due to high winds.
The occupant had came home from school and was cooking French Fries in grease on the stove when the fire occured.
Derby Engine #2 & Udall Tender #47 provided assistance.

A quick stop was made to this detached garage fire, despite the hydrant closest to the fire being out of service.
